The problem

You did the work. You're still waiting.

By law, government departments must pay suppliers within 30 days of receiving a correct invoice. Many don't. While you wait, you still have to pay staff, fuel and suppliers.

30 days
The legal deadline for departments to pay a valid invoice (PFMA Treasury Regulation 8.2.3)
"If you keep quiet and do not get on their necks reminding them about your invoices, you will not get paid." Jerry Malindi, Boiketlong Funeral Directors, speaking to Sowetan, August 2026

We want to take that chasing off your plate. Before we launch, we're talking to suppliers to understand how big the problem really is.

Planned service

How it will work

This is what we're planning. Your answers on the waitlist will help us shape it.

  1. You share your unpaid invoices

The invoices and the purchase order numbers that go with them. A photo or PDF will be fine.

  2. We check the paperwork

Invoices often get stuck over small things, like a missing order number, proof of delivery or tax compliance. We'll help you spot and fix the gaps.

  3. We follow up and escalate

We'll follow up with the department and, where needed, use the official routes: the department itself, the provincial treasury, and National Treasury's 30-day payment queries line.

Government pays you

Payment goes from the department straight to you. Only then would our success fee apply.

Planned pricing

Pay only when you get paid

No upfront cost. No monthly fee. This is our planned pricing for launch, and we'd love your honest view on it.

FAQ

Questions

Are you open yet?

Not yet. SettlePay is a pre-launch project. We aren't taking on clients or contacting any department for anyone yet. Joining the waitlist just means we'll let you know when we launch, and we may ask you a few questions about your experience.

Is this a loan?

No. We won't lend you money, and you won't owe us anything upfront. The plan is to help you get the money government already owes you, with a fee only once it's paid.

Will you guarantee I get paid?

No, and you should be careful of anyone who does. Some departments are very slow, and some invoices have real problems. What we plan to offer is a proper check, consistent follow-up through official channels, and honest updates.

What happens to the information I share?

We use it only to run the waitlist and to understand demand for SettlePay. We don't sell it, and we'll only send you updates if you tick the box to say you want them. Please don't send ID numbers, banking details or invoices yet. Read our privacy policy for the details.

Are you part of government?

No. SettlePay is an independent private project. It isn't part of, or affiliated with, any government department, municipality, National Treasury or any other state body.
